Muskegon, MI at a Glance
Muskegon is adjacent to two bodies of water, Lake
Michigan to the west and Muskegon Lake to the north, and offers many attractions
to visitors. Fishing charter tours, hiking, biking and camping on the beach
are just a few of the available summer activities. Muskegon
Summer Celebration occurs for 10 days during the July 4th holiday, bringing
national music acts of all backgrounds to the shores of Muskegon Lake. Muskegon
Winter Sports Complex provides winter activities including, snowmobile trails,
cross-country skiing, a luge track, ice skating and snowshoeing. Visitors can
also discover the history of this lumber town through many museums and historic
sites, such as the restored lavish homes of Muskegon’s lumber barons at The
Hackley
& Hume Home Historic Sites. Open from May to September, Michigan's
Adventure Amusement Park, the largest amusement park in the state, is located
a few miles north of Muskegon and features a midway with roller coasters, general
rides, amusements and a full water park.
